Our future president is recruiting ideas to change the country. The top ten ideas will be presented to congress and (theoretically) considered as ways to right the many wrongs we’re reeling from. My dad entered an idea about global poverty. He needs more votes. So, take a look and see if you agree with his idea (some of you won’t). If you don’t, don’t feel obligated to vote, but if you think it’s a good idea, please vote for him (I promised that I’d try to recruit some votes, so this is me being a good daughter). You have to register but I haven’t gotten any spam or anything.

Tonight, I pulled the big fake Christmas tree out of the closet, and helped my two girls set up this year’s Christmas Tree. The smell of fake tree, the glow of the mini lights, the glass ornaments always leads me on a trip down memory lane. More over, I think of how Christmas for my daughters is different, and will always be different, than the Christmases I remember.
In particular, I thought back to the times (I can’t be so sure about how many) when we would all go to with my mom to her store, and help set up the Christmas displays. When my brothers and I were small, each under 10, and living in our original childhood home in the southern part of Tucson, just east of I-19, my mom was working hard at what as then Skaggs Drug Store. Noah + 20lb. “friendly” raccoon = not good. While I’m still not entirely clear on the events that led up to the raccoon’s claw coming in contact with Noah’s hand outside the Rutherglen Mansion during Thanksgiving dinner, one thing’s for sure: he only learns his way.

Lepas makan kat rumah member Baba..Alya kerjanya asyik nak babai jer..
Hari Sabtu petang tu sepupu2 Adam dan Alya (A&A) dari Miri datang, Zikri, Syafik dan Laila..Mak dan pak sedara A&A semua ada, Ayah Long, Auntie, Mok Oda, Mok Oye dan Pok Cik Po..masa diorang call nak datang kami masih tengah pusing2 kat Puchong lepas balik dari rumah member Baba kat Cyberjaya..cepat2 Ummi ajak Baba balik..Ummi nak masak ni..suka betul Ummi masak kalau orang nak datang nih..singgah kedai runcit kejap.
Elok2 jer diorang sampai..sempat lah siap masakan Ummi..untuk adik beradik Baba bukan susah nak masak apa.Patern makanan mereka Ummi dah dapat agak..heheh tak tau la betul ke tak..yang lelaki suka yang goreng2, yang perempuan suka yang pedas2..Ummi pun masaklah labu masak lemak campur udang dan bayam, ayam masak kicap, ikan bilis goreng+bawang+lada kering, ulam raja dan kacang botol dan semestinya budu untuk adik2 perempuan Baba.gambar Ummi tak sempat amibik..sebab ramai sangat..malu ler

Okay…..lots of ground to cover and yet I don’t have much time before my next Vicodin kicks in…….well, actually it is already kicking in, so this will not be the post I had hoped it to be!
Thanksgiving was great! I went to Edgar’s house and he, the kids, Anita and Luciano, and my Dad and Ellie celebrated together. Here is a pic of Dad and Ellie, specifically taken for my Aunt Kay:
My shoulder is doing pretty good. I did way too much yesterday and thought it’d be good to lay off the pain meds - the two are a bad combination. I ended up being in the worst pain I have felt since the surgery and it took quite some time for it to be controlled. It was not pleasant and I was, unfortunately, cranky! Just back from a superlative weekend with B and W, my lovely coz and her partner. I’ve done nothing more strenuous than eat, drink copious amounts of vino, read the weekend papers, lurk about talking and listening to kd lang, and wandering round the supermarket in a desultory fashion. Oh, and I cooked dinner on Friday but that doesn’t count as work!!
The result of all this relaxation is that I got two amazing nights’ sleep, which was sorely required and now I’m back at Piereth Towers I am toiling for sleep once more. Woke up 5 times in the night and got up at 4.30am. Shite.
W gave me a brand-new acoustic guitar and primers as a present - hooray!!!! An ambition to learn an instrument one giant step closer!

When I was in 2nd grade, I woke up to find my mother crying. I didn’t understand what was wrong or why she was crying. She told me that someone she loved, someone she grew up with had died-John Lennon. I went to school and everyone was talking about it. I told everyone that my mother knew him and grew up with him. I didn’t understand till later that she never personally knew him. I also found out later what an extraordinary loss it was to our world the day John Lennon was shot:

Sunday
I am back at school. After my last post, everything just kind of went downhill. Not a ton but it wasn’t as fun as the first half of my break (except spending Saturday evening with D).
I went to my grandma’s and missed D a lot. That was probably because of the drama and lack of {good} excitement there. On Wednesday we drove over and had dinner, and then my parents got into a fight while we were all playing Boggle. It was just a stressful situation.
Then Thursday was Thanksgiving, and I went on a walk with my parents in the morning. The guests arrived early, which was good except that we were still showering and getting ready. I drank some wine before dinner, but one of our guests {my great aunt?} got a little too drunk .. it is sad to see old people drunk. Apparently she’d taken a tranquilizer [...]

I was blessed again this morning with being able to photograph another gorgeous family. I can’t believe how lucky I have been to have meet so many beautiful families since I started this business. This morning was another day full of fun, love and laughter. This little man was such a pleasure to photograph, he made me giggle. We had every intention of getting things done today, but it was too nice of a day. We went to the Moss Landing and after 4 1/2 years of having a wetsuit, it finally got some use. Amanda has been trying to get me to go boogy boarding with her for a couple of weeks. It really didn’t sound too enticing with the 50 degree water temps, but I did it today and was amazed with how warm I was in my wetsuit. It was so much fun.
I just found a wetsuit a booties for Thaddeus and he wore his today too. It was his first real experience in the ocean. His uncle Joel took him on the boogy board and he road his first wave. He was pretty terrified, but when he saw the video, he wanted to do it again.
