I have given myself another reason to say that my break isn’t as great as I expected it to. Unfortunately, I was not careful and unaware while backing out that I backed into my dad’s car. As a result, his car now has a huge scratch on his hind bumper that rubbed off a good handful of the paint coating. My sister’s car was lucky not to suffer the same damage, but has a slight dent on the bottom of her tail light and a few, but nearly unnoticeable, scratches.
Ugh. How can I be so stupid. Now I owe my mother probably a bajillion hours since my parents have to fix both cars eventually. I feel terrible.

You may have heard that one of the first pregnancy symptoms many women have is changes to their breast tissue. It is true that your breasts will respond to you being pregnant by changing in preparation for breastfeeding. Here are some of the more common changes in your breasts during pregnancy:

Shower under fire

Our boys enjoying a shower together

Our kids love to shower together. They scrub each other’s back, make soap baloons and like you can see in the picture ride each other and make funny faces to their mom that can’ t stop taking their pictures.
The only “fight” around evening shower time is who gets to play in the shower with our youngest, who like you can see is the funniest child around… singing, making faces and making them laugh…
The “loser” in this “fight” showers alone usually in the second shower/bath - in the other bathroom.
War time changed it all for us.
Suddenly I started imagining what would happen if they’re in the shower and an alarm starts.
I have 45 seconds~ to rush them to the shelter. Our showers are on the second floor of the house and the shelter is on the first floor. So this means taking them out of the [...]

It’s 3:30AM.
I need to be sleeping, but I woke up feeling so shitty and I needed to detox with an ice cold glass of juicy juice (diluted with water- makes for a very nice experience). For some reason my mouth was so dry and tasted like poo and my shitty diet for the day wasn’t helping me. So here I am, writing a bit just to wear me down so I’ll go back to sleep shortly. I’m tired- just a bit stimulated from walking around for a bit a few minutes ago.
I have a great idea for a story I want to write at some point.
I don’t know what I’m going to do today… but I know I gotta go return Pineapple Express, see what the deal with Ghost Town is, go to Circuit City, and go to salvation army? I’m dying to drum. I got my new kick drum [...]

Her FIRST Word

YESH…My younger gal said her very first word this morning!!!…Make a guess what it is. Well it is a very basic word, one that we use very often and simply without much thought…give up ???

EAT (in teochew = JIA!)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…let me recount how it happened. I was having my breakfast this morning with my mum sitting opposite me with my younger gal on her lap. Suddenly, she pointed to my breakfast and went “JIA!” grinning from ear to ear Both my mum & myself were momentarily stunned before we realised that this is her first word!!!
My sister then walked into the kitchen at that moment and we both excitedly told her about it. She commented (with a slap to her forehead) “OMG THIS is her first word??? Jialat ah!!!” (kekekekekek)

HUNTER SAFETY ON WORSHIP TEAM…

…cuz you never know when you might be mistaken for prey.
Soooo, I love our worship team at Church of the Canyons. They really are family to me.
We are a diverse group of personalities, skills, interests, desires, callings, joys, sorrows…
Since the end of August, we’ve had a series of life-altering events happening to many members of our team, which in turn feels like it’s happening to each of us (as with family):
-our leader had a stroke aug 24th (?), all semester the worship team drew together to stay afloat and still lead the congregation in worship,
-our drummer announced that his wife is pregnant (she had breast cancer and defeated it, so it was an extra joyous occasion),
-our leader is almost fully recovered and in december was hired on as Worship Pastor (a lifelong dream realized),
-one of our singers was diagnosed with breast cancer on dec 15th and was in chemo 13 [...]

Making reading fun

Reading was never one of my favorite things to do growing up. I’m one of those people who tried to work things out without reading the instructions. At the end, I realize that reading the instructions would have made the task much easier, lol.
I’m trying to read more lately. Although I can’t imagine myself reading novels like my co-workers to pass the time, I’ve been reading a lot of magazine articles and blogs. Those count right?
As an attempt to promote reading with our kids, we’ve been taking trips to the bookstore and buying books to add to their library.
For Christmas, my brother in law gave our son a set of 3 Science books and my sister in law gave him a book to accompany his Build-A-Bear present. My mom gave him a whole set of books from Scholastic.

Waar wacht je nog op Geiltje?

Waar wacht ik op? Wel, vriendin X moet ieder moment bevallen, beter nog gisteren of vandaag. Waarom zo zeker? Vriendin heeft samen met haar man een beenhouwerij en is nu een week overtijd dus… zou de bevalling gisteren ingeleid worden.
Ik wacht ook op nieuws van mijn neefje, zijn vriendin is uitgerekend op de verjaardag van 2, maar had vorige week al 4 cm opening en moest het rustig aandoen.
Dan heb ik misschien iets te lang gewacht want deze morgen bedacht ik me dat ik nog 13 dagen te gaan heb voordat 2 verjaart. Uitnodigingen dienen dus zeker vandaag gemaakt te worden zodat hij ze morgen kan meenemen naar school. Here I go… een tweede verjaardagsfeestje en deze keer eentje met wilde 7- jarigen die hoofdzakelijk uit mannelijken zal bestaan aangezien hij Liesl enkel maar zal uitnodigen omdat zijn mama haar zo een mooi en lief meisje vindt.
