No tags for this post.In my last post before I went AWOL, I told you about the children’s play that my youngest daughter was in. You know, the one where I found out AFTER she was cast in the role of her dreams that the PARENTS were responsible for the costumes.
Go on, laugh, you children’s theater veterans. Of course, the parents make the costumes. They also make the sets, the programs, the props and basically, everything else. But I did not know this, stage-mom-rookie that I was, so I was just a teensy bit surprised. (For the record–no complaints here–our children’s theater group and its parent team is Incredible!)
Anyway, as I pointed out in my earlier post, my mom was called upon to save the day. I really enjoyed watching her fly out of retirement and into action in her role of Costume Maker and Creative Genius Extraordinaire.
Anyway, months later, but as promised, here [...]

She said that when she arrived at the hospital to give birth to each of her four children.
This is the first time we’ve ever had time to worry. All her previous crises of health have been sudden and just as suddenly over.
I wish she were here to hold my hand. That’s what Mom’s do isn’t it? So what do you do in a waiting room when the woman who has always been the strong one is the one you’re trying to be strong for. A piece of her is being cut off. It’s a fairly common procedure these days, but I am haunted by my own imagination.
I should have slept. I never sleep before trips, graduations, moving, birthdays. My Mom tells me that I’ve been like this my whole life. Always putting off sleep. I also always put off waking [...]
Ang sarap ng buhay ko ngayong araw na ‘to. Isang dream come true para sa akin ang magising sa kainitan ng tanghali na walang nakauurat na nilalang sa bahay. Whoa. Wala silang lahat at ako’y nagdiwang. I pulled off the phone line para siguradong wala ng manggugulo at tatawag para tanungin kung buhay pa ba ako o kumain na ba ako o para ipacheck kung nabunot ba nila sa saksakan ang plantsa. Yeah.
San sila nagpunta?

No tags for this post. How Parents Let Their Kids Go Too Far, Too Fast, Too Soon
This is the first in a series of three articles.
Over the years, the Lord has allowed me the privilege to serve families and students in their journey together. Hundreds of teens have graduated from our student ministry, and the vast majority of them are living faithfully for the Lord—all by God’s grace and to His glory. In the day to day efforts, my wife and I have been involved as counselors, mentors, and sometimes disciplinarians in literally hundreds of budding and developing “dating relationships.” Not long ago, we sat down together and listed the ten most common mistakes that we see parents make when it comes to their teenager’s romantic attractions.
At the start, I must say, I don’t like the word dating. It carries with it too many varying connotations and secular implications. For the purpose of this article, I’m [...]
so it’s my 27th year..
strangely I don’t feel 27.
Most of the people my age are married and have 1-3 kids..
I thank God that I don’t have either.
granted I don’t mind the niece and nephew..
I still feel like a kid at heart..case in point. My “big” Christmas present from my dad..
a Nerf Vulcan battery powered dart gun.
Its about as close as you can get to a belt fed machinegun without you know..bullets,Class III papers, tons of money..etc.
I’d like to mod my Nerf CS-6 Longshot by adding in a spring and removing the air restrictors and giving it a custom paint job.
however my first “love” (if you will)
is building computers..
Nothing more fun than taking a couple of boxes of stuff and creating something cool..say like a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4 with PCI-e graphics and all that stuff.
which reminds me..
I ordered a SATA Pioneer DVD burner,single plug IDE cable,2xEVGA 9800GTs and a Saitek X52 controller/throttle combo [...]
As part of my personal mission to make the world a better place for all of us, i am declaring tomorrow as “Spread the Love” Day…
I watched “Pay it Forward” a few weeks back and somehow i was inspired by the idea…
I know some of you might think it is too cheesy or i am indeed going coo-coo, but trust me, i’m not doing this for me…but for the world…OUR world…
There is so much hatin’ going on in the world today especially with the whole war issues between Israel and Palestine, so it won’t hurt if we all can contribute to spread the love to others. Brilliant huh?
So, to all the readers, this is my plead…
Tomorrow, 8th January 2009, let’s all of us do these following things:-
Make a courtesy phonecall to someone you care / love (your mom, dad, husband, wife, siblings, bf, gf, best friend, etc.) and just say [...]
